Start Here: Choosing & Buying LÉVOJU

These are the fastest answers for choosing a product, keeping your routine simple and checking the claims or purchase options that matter before you buy.

Choose by concern

I’m new to LÉVOJU. Where should I start?

Start with the skin concern you most want to address rather than buying the whole range at once. Choose a cleanser that suits your skin, then add one targeted product for hydration, blemishes, uneven-looking tone or texture. Introducing one new product at a time also makes it easier to judge comfort and fit.

Which LÉVOJU product is best for dehydrated or tight-feeling skin?

Double Hydration Boost Gel + HA is the most directly targeted LÉVOJU option for dehydration. Its formula combines hyaluronic acid, Sodium PCA, aloe and other supportive ingredients in a lightweight gel. If tightness is persistent or your skin is irritated, simplify the rest of the routine as well.

Which LÉVOJU product fits oily but dehydrated skin?

Double Hydration Boost Gel + HA is the clearest fit when skin feels dehydrated but you still prefer a lightweight texture. Oily skin can still lack water, so oiliness alone is not a reason to avoid hydration. Adjust the amount and the rest of your moisturising routine according to comfort.

Which LÉVOJU product is for individual blemishes?

Acne Spot Care is the targeted LÉVOJU option for individual surface blemishes. It contains 2% salicylic acid and is intended for local application rather than as a full-face acne treatment. Deep, painful, recurring or scarring acne needs individual professional assessment.

Which LÉVOJU product supports a brighter, more even-looking tone and post-blemish marks?

Vitamin C Serum is the LÉVOJU product most directly positioned for dullness, uneven-looking tone and the appearance of post-blemish marks. It uses ascorbyl glucoside, a vitamin C derivative, together with ferulic acid and supporting ingredients. Visible change is gradual and individual results vary.

Which LÉVOJU product is for fine lines and uneven texture without retinol?

Retinol Alternative Serum is the LÉVOJU option aimed at the appearance of fine lines and uneven texture without using retinol. Its key botanical active is Bidens pilosa. “Retinol alternative” describes its cosmetic positioning; Bidens pilosa is not a retinoid and should not be treated as chemically equivalent to retinol.

Which LÉVOJU cleanser is designed for normal or oily skin?

Radiant Glow Facial Wash is formulated for normal and oily skin. It removes everyday impurities, excess sebum and make-up while helping maintain the skin’s moisture balance. It is not fragrance-free, so check the ingredient list if fragrance is a concern for you.

Do I need the full LÉVOJU range to build an effective routine?

No. LÉVOJU products are designed to be chosen around your needs, not as a requirement to use every product together. A simple routine with a suitable cleanser, one targeted step and appropriate moisturising and sun protection can be a better starting point than introducing several active products at once.

Routine & compatibility

What is the simplest LÉVOJU morning routine?

Keep it simple: cleanse if needed, use one targeted step, then finish with sunscreen. For example, choose Vitamin C Serum when uneven-looking tone is the priority or Double Hydration Boost Gel + HA when hydration is the priority. You do not need to stack every LÉVOJU product in the same morning.

What is the simplest LÉVOJU evening routine?

Cleanse, then choose the step that matches your main concern. Retinol Alternative Serum can be the targeted step for fine lines and uneven texture, Acne Spot Care is used only on individual blemishes, and Double Hydration Boost Gel + HA can support hydration. Start with one priority rather than layering everything at once.

Can I use Vitamin C Serum and Double Hydration Boost Gel + HA together?

They can be used in the same routine if both formulas suit your skin. Apply in light layers and let each layer settle before the next. If the combination feels sticky, pills or causes irritation, simplify the routine rather than adding more product.

Can I use Acne Spot Care and Vitamin C Serum in the same routine?

Some routines tolerate vitamin C and salicylic acid, but using several active products together can make irritation harder to interpret. Keep Acne Spot Care local to the blemish and consider separating the products between morning and evening or alternating them if your skin is sensitive.

Can I use Retinol Alternative Serum and Vitamin C Serum in the same overall routine?

They can be part of the same overall skincare routine if both suit your skin, but there is no need to introduce them at the same time. A simple approach is Vitamin C Serum in the morning and Retinol Alternative Serum in the evening. Introduce one first so you can judge tolerance before adding the other.

Should I introduce several new active skincare products at the same time?

Usually no. Introducing one new active product at a time makes it much easier to identify what is helping, what is irritating your skin and what simply is not a good fit. Once your skin is comfortable with one change, you can decide whether another step is actually needed.

What should I do if a LÉVOJU product stings, burns or causes persistent irritation?

Do not treat strong stinging or burning as proof that a product is working. Stop or reduce use, simplify the routine and follow the product directions. If the reaction is significant, persistent, swollen, painful or otherwise concerning, seek individual advice from a pharmacist, dermatologist or other appropriate healthcare professional.

Are all LÉVOJU products dermatologically tested?

We do not make a blanket dermatologically-tested claim across the whole LÉVOJU range. Where dermatological testing is part of the verified information for a specific product, it is stated on that product page. For example, the current Vitamin C Serum listing carries the Dermatologically Tested claim.

Are all LÉVOJU products fragrance-free?

No blanket fragrance-free claim applies across the range. Radiant Glow Facial Wash, for example, contains Parfum/Fragrance as well as the listed fragrance allergens Linalool and Limonene. Check the full ingredient list on each product page if fragrance is important to your product choice.

Does LÉVOJU disclose active ingredient percentages?

Where a verified concentration is part of the product information, we state it. Acne Spot Care lists 2% salicylic acid, while Vitamin C Serum lists 2% ascorbyl glucoside. Percentages should still be interpreted in the context of the complete formula rather than used to rank unlike ingredients directly.

Blemishes & Spot Care

Can salicylic acid work overnight?

A surface blemish may look less oily or drier by morning, but that is not guaranteed and is not the same as treating recurring acne.

Why is my spot flaky but still raised?

The surface may be over-dried while deeper inflammation remains. Do not keep adding more product; review the directions and protect the surrounding skin.

How long should I continue before deciding it does not suit me?

For congestion, full benefit can require several weeks. A significant adverse reaction is a reason to stop earlier. Persistent or scarring acne needs individual medical advice.

Should salicylic-acid spot care go before or after moisturiser?

Follow the product directions. Applying to clean, dry skin gives direct contact; applying moisturiser first may reduce intensity for some routines but can also change performance. If you are sensitive, ask a pharmacist or dermatologist how to adapt your exact products.

Can I use it every day?

Frequency depends on the exact formula and your tolerance. Use the labelled schedule, not a universal social-media rule. Reduce use if persistent dryness or irritation develops.

Does a thicker layer work faster?

No reliable rule says a thicker layer clears a spot faster. It increases exposure and can make irritation more likely.

Is tea tree oil antibacterial?

Tea tree oil has demonstrated antimicrobial activity, which is why it appears in blemish products. That does not make every tea-tree formula a proven acne treatment or guarantee a result for every user.

Can I add extra tea tree oil to the product?

No. Doing so changes the tested concentration and can increase irritation or allergy risk.

Is tingling evidence that both actives are working?

No. Sensation is not a measure of efficacy. Persistent stinging or burning is a reason to stop.

Can purging happen where I never break out?

New bumps in unfamiliar areas make an automatic “purge” explanation less convincing. Review the whole routine and stop if the pattern suggests irritation.

Does a tingle mean salicylic acid is active?

Sensation is not a measure of effectiveness. A product can work without tingling, and burning can mean the skin is being irritated.

Should I keep using it if my skin is peeling?

Do not force continued use through significant dryness or peeling. Follow the product directions, reduce or stop use as appropriate, and get professional advice if the reaction persists.

Can salicylic acid work on an under-the-skin pimple?

Its pore-exfoliating action can support an acne-prone routine, but a deep, painful nodule should not be expected to respond like a surface whitehead. Recurring or scarring deep acne needs professional assessment.

Should I try to bring a cyst to a head?

Do not squeeze or repeatedly irritate it. Warmth may feel soothing, but forcing a deep lesion can increase tissue damage and the risk of a mark or scar.

Does stinging mean spot care is working?

No. Strong stinging, burning, swelling or a worsening rash is not an efficacy signal. Stop using the product and seek appropriate advice if a reaction is significant.

Can I put pure tea tree oil directly on one pimple?

We do not recommend treating neat essential oil as a spot product. It can irritate or sensitise skin, and a larger dose is not proven to work better.

Is 3% tea tree oil too weak?

Percentages cannot be judged without the full formula. Studies of 5% gels do not establish a universal minimum, and they do not prove that undiluted oil is superior.

Can I use tea tree oil on a picked spot?

Avoid applying it to broken or markedly irritated skin. Clean the area gently and seek advice if you are concerned about infection or healing.

Hydration & Hyaluronic Acid

Related product: Double Hydration Boost Gel + HA · Browse hydration guides

Must hyaluronic acid go on wet skin?

Lightly damp skin is a useful starting point. Dripping-wet skin can dilute the product or increase pilling, and some finished creams are designed for dry skin. Follow the specific directions.

Can I use HA in a dry climate?

Yes, but you may need a moisturiser above it and a simpler routine. Judge by sustained comfort, not only the first minute after application.

Can too many HA products be a problem?

They can create a sticky or tight-feeling stack for some users. More humectant layers are not automatically more hydrating.

Is Sodium PCA an exfoliating acid?

No. Despite “acid” appearing in the longer chemical name, Sodium PCA is used primarily as a humectant, not as an exfoliating AHA or BHA.

Can I use HA and Sodium PCA every day?

They are common moisturising ingredients, but daily suitability depends on the complete formula and your skin. Stop if irritation develops.

Which should go first?

When both are in one finished formula, there is no separate order. If they are in different products, layer by texture and compatibility rather than chasing a universal ingredient rule.

Can I mist my face after HA?

You can, but repeated misting is not mandatory. A small amount on lightly damp skin followed by an appropriate moisturiser is a simpler starting method.

Can HA be used morning and evening?

Many HA products can be used at either time, but follow the directions and judge the complete routine by comfort.

Should HA go before sunscreen?

Yes. Skincare layers go before sunscreen. Let them settle so the sunscreen can form an even film, and apply the required amount of sunscreen without mixing it into the gel.

Is low-molecular-weight HA always better?

No. Molecular size affects behaviour, but performance and tolerance depend on the complete formula. Surface film formation is also a useful moisturising function.

Does multi-molecular HA reach every layer of the skin?

That phrase is too broad without direct testing of the exact formula. Different sizes show different permeation behaviour, but a product needs its own evidence for a specific depth claim.

Is topical HA the same as a filler?

No. A topical cosmetic hydrates the surface; an injectable filler is a medical procedure placed within tissue.

Can oily skin need moisturiser?

Yes. Oil production does not tell you whether the outer skin is holding enough water. Choose texture and layering according to comfort rather than assuming oily skin must avoid moisturiser.

Does dehydration cause acne?

Acne has multiple causes, and dehydration should not be presented as a single cause. An irritating routine can, however, make acne care harder to tolerate.

Can I use a hydration gel under sunscreen?

Yes, if the two formulas layer well. Use a thin amount, allow brief dry-down and avoid rubbing repeatedly if pilling occurs.

How long should I wait between skincare layers?

There is no universal minute count. Wait until the layer is no longer moving freely, then apply the next product gently. Compatibility matters more than a stopwatch.

Does pilling mean the product did not absorb?

Not necessarily. Cosmetics work partly at the surface. Pilling means the films did not remain even; it does not measure ingredient absorption.

Should I exfoliate before makeup to stop pilling?

Not as a first response. Over-exfoliation can worsen dryness and irritation. Test amount, order and application method first.

Vitamin C & Uneven-Looking Tone

Related product: Vitamin C Serum · Browse vitamin C guides

Is ascorbyl glucoside pure vitamin C?

No. It is a vitamin C derivative. That identity should be stated clearly rather than presenting every derivative as pure L-ascorbic acid.

Is 2% ascorbyl glucoside the same as 2% L-ascorbic acid?

No. Percentages across different molecules are not directly interchangeable.

Is ascorbyl glucoside suitable for sensitive skin?

It may be chosen for a gentler-positioned formula, but sensitivity depends on the complete product and the individual. Patch test and stop if a significant reaction occurs.

Should I keep using vitamin C if I get pimples?

Do not assume the spots are beneficial. Pause, simplify and assess the complete pattern. Seek advice for persistent, painful or scarring breakouts.

Can vitamin C and salicylic acid be used together?

Some routines tolerate both, but introducing or layering them together can make irritation harder to interpret. Separate them or alternate use if needed, following professional advice and each product’s directions.

Does “non-comedogenic” guarantee no breakouts?

No. It can be a useful formulation claim when properly substantiated, but no cosmetic can guarantee universal tolerance.

Can vitamin C remove old acne scars?

It may support the look of uneven tone, but an indented or raised scar is a structural concern. A topical serum cannot remove every scar.

Can vitamin C make a dark spot look darker?

Irritation, ongoing sun exposure, oxidation or even lighting differences can affect appearance. Stop and reassess if the skin is becoming irritated.

Must vitamin C be used every morning?

Follow the product directions and choose a frequency your skin tolerates. Consistency matters more than applying extra product.

Is 2% vitamin C low?

The question is incomplete without naming the form. Two percent ascorbyl glucoside cannot be compared directly with 2% or 20% L-ascorbic acid.

What percentage is best for sensitive skin?

No percentage guarantees tolerance. The derivative, pH, full formula, frequency and individual skin matter.

Can I use more drops to make it stronger?

No. More product changes the amount applied, not the concentration, and may increase greasiness or irritation. Follow the directions.

Does ferulic acid make every vitamin C serum stable?

No. Stability depends on the vitamin C form, pH, solvent, packaging, manufacturing and storage as well as supporting antioxidants.

Is 1% ferulic acid better than 0.5%?

You cannot rank formulas from percentage alone. The best-known study used 0.5% in a specific combination; a higher number is not automatic proof of greater performance.

Can vitamin C and ferulic acid replace SPF?

No. They are not sunscreen. Use broad-spectrum sunscreen as the final morning skincare step.

Is pale yellow vitamin C already oxidised?

Not necessarily. Some formulas are naturally pale yellow. Look for progressive change and follow the exact brand’s guidance.

Can an orange vitamin C serum darken my skin?

A degraded or strongly coloured formula can leave temporary residue or transfer. Vitamin C does not intentionally “tan” the skin. Stop if a changed serum stains or irritates.

Should all vitamin C be kept in the fridge?

No. Follow the manufacturer’s storage directions. Form, packaging and formulation determine what is appropriate.

Retinol Alternatives & Bidens pilosa

Related product: Retinol Alternative Serum · Browse retinol-alternative guides

Which is strongest?

“Strongest” depends on the endpoint and formula, but retinol has the most established evidence of the three. That does not automatically make it the best-tolerated choice for every person.

Can I combine a retinol alternative with retinol?

That may add complexity without a clear need. Follow both product directions and seek professional guidance if you are building a high-active routine.

Will a plant alternative make me purge?

Do not automatically label new bumps as purging. Review the complete formula and everything else changed in the routine.

How long should I wait out a purge?

There is no validated Bidens-pilosa purge timeline. Do not use a generic six- or eight-week rule to ignore worsening irritation.

Can botanical oils cause breakouts?

Any finished formula can be a poor individual fit. An ingredient’s presence does not prove it caused the breakout, so change one variable at a time.

Does tingling mean the serum is active?

No. Tingling is a sensation, not an efficacy measurement. Persistent stinging or burning is a reason to stop.

Is there a head-to-head Bidens pilosa and retinol trial?

The cited RXR-alpha study does not provide the kind of direct Bidens-only versus retinol comparison needed to claim equivalence.

Do Selfnamed's percentages mean I will get the same result?

No. They describe outcomes reported in the referenced product study. Individual skin, routines and results vary.

Is “clinically proven” the same as “clinically equivalent to retinol”?

No. A product can be studied clinically without being compared with retinol. The exact study design and endpoint must support the exact claim.

Should I see results in two weeks?

You may be able to judge feel, comfort and hydration. Two weeks is usually too short for a confident assessment of fine-line or uneven-tone appearance.

Can I use before-and-after selfies?

Yes, if lighting, camera distance, angle and expression are consistent. Otherwise, ordinary photographic variation can look like a result.

If I see no change after twelve weeks, should I use more?

Do not exceed the directions. Reassess the goal, routine and product fit instead of increasing the dose automatically.

Is a retinol alternative always suitable for rosacea or eczema?

No. Those conditions need individual care, and even a non-retinoid formula can irritate compromised skin. Ask a dermatologist or pharmacist about your exact routine.

Can I use a retinol alternative after retinol damaged my barrier?

Do not rush to replace one active while skin is still inflamed. First allow the routine to stabilise and seek advice if symptoms persist.

Does “natural” mean pregnancy-safe?

No. Natural origin is not pregnancy evidence. Discuss the exact ingredient list with your doctor, midwife or pharmacist.

Is Bidens pilosa the same as bakuchiol?

No. They are different ingredients from different botanical sources and have different bodies of evidence.

Is Bidens pilosa a retinoid?

No. “Retinol alternative” is a cosmetic positioning term, not a chemical classification.

How long should I assess a formula?

Hydration or softness may be noticed sooner than changes in fine-line or uneven-tone appearance. Use consistent photographs and follow the product directions; do not rely on a guaranteed universal timeline.
